McBeth House

Sisters Kate and Sue McBeth lived and worked in Kamiah, serving as teachers and missionaries to the Nez Perce community. The house that sheltered their work still stands, though it is privately owned and not open to visitors.

What You Can Learn

The McBeth House is located on private property in Kamiah and is not currently accessible to the public. Out of respect for the landowners, directions to the site are not provided. However, the nearby First Indian Presbyterian Church, where Kate and Sue served, remains active and welcomes visitors on Sundays.

The Nez Perce National Historical Park visitor center is approximately 60 miles west and has more information about Kate and Sue McBeth and their work with the nimíipuu.
